Melting Pot
Children starting at a very young age adore learning their families history, asking about when and where their ancestors came from. For many, it’s not a distant ancestor they have never met, but it is their parents or grandparents. Having that direct link can foster a love for the culture your family is from but it also causes the uncertainty of which culture they should align with.
Focusing on second and third-generation immigrants, I am capturing the importance of their heritage whilst taking a journalistic approach to the emotional significance that their heritage holds for them. Mixing both makes work highlighting the children of immigrants and their histories
